FDI & Commemorative Covers
First Day Issue and Special Commemorative Covers are issued by the Principality of Paulovia through the offices of the Posta Servizio Principato.
First Day Issue covers are decorated or illustrated envelopes, bearing new issue Paulovian stamps cancelled (franked) with an official "first day of issue" cachet or date stamp. These covers are issued in small limited editions of between 5 and 100 units depending on the significance of the stamp issue.
Special Commemorative covers are the same as FDI covers in design but commemorate events in the Paulovian or international diary. These covers bear current Paulovian stamps and are cancelled with a specially commissioned cachet mark or the normal official date franking for normal mail i.e. not "First Day of Issue". These covers are issued in small limited editions of between 5 and 100 units depending on the event being commemorated.
Subject to stock these issues are available for purchase from the our Philatelic Bureau Stamp Shop (seperate site opens in new window).
