Ambassadors and Consuls Paulovia maintains a single web based international embassy headed by the Ambassador-General. The International Embassy depends on its regional Ambassadors and local Consuls to represent and promote Paulovia worldwide. The role of consul is open to all Paulovian citizens on application or by special appointment by the Crown. Ambassadors are only appointed by the Crown on individual merit or for outstanding service as a consul. If you are not willing to devote a little of your time to these goals then please do not apply for the role of Consul, or if in doubt as to your suitability, contact the International Embassy Ambassadors and Consuls do not require any special skills or qualifications; only the will to do good and foster friendship in the world. Diplomatic officials do not have independent plenipotentiary powers. Applications may take upto 35 days to process. Be assured you will receive an answer from the Embassy. Consular appointments are valid for life unless resigned by the appointee or withdrawn by HRH Government. Ambassadors and Consuls are requested to make an annual email report on their official activities on the anniversary of their appointment. Successful applicants are advised by the Ambassador-General of the International Embassy and issued with a copy (e-document) of their Royal Warrant of Appointment. Appointees can receive their original Royal Warrant by airmail with State Seal impression and HRH signature. Official Title Appointees are entitled to use their title as a post-nominal in all official correspondence, both electronic and written. Use of titles on non-official documents or in unofficial situations is considered unethical and is discouraged by HRH Government. Diplomatic officials are also granted the right to fly the Paulovia National Flag (but not the State Flag) or display a printed National Flag in vehicles or private dwellings that are used for official consular activities. Diplomatic Immunity However, the status of the Principality of Paulovia as an unrecognised state by the United Nations and international governmental organisations, excludes Paulovian consular officials from protection under the Vienna Convention. Therefore, HRH's Government will be unable to offer immunity, protection or representation if local or international laws are infringed or consular powers exceeded or abused.
